Student & Family Support
Lakeaires, along with the White Bear Lake School District, offers many student support services beyond the classroom.
The purpose of the White Bear Lake Area Schools English Learner Program is to help develop children's Standard American English skills to a level where they can succeed in their mainstream classrooms.
Family Support & Special Services - Special student needs are met outside the classroom by a variety of professionals here at Lakeaires:
School Psychologist - Heather Musich
Learning Disabilities (LD) - Karen Broza
Special Education - Tracy Mowery
Speech - Celeste Ruebl
School Social Worker - Amanda Weunkauf is at Lakeaires two days a week.
Health Services - The purpose of the health office is to provide necessary health services for a variety of medical conditions for all Lakeaires children. Parents are notified in case of serious illnesses or injuries; all other conditions are treated in the Health Office and the students return to class.
Specialists - Lakeaires students have opportunities in specialty areas outside their classroom each day, rotating through Physical Education, Music, and Spanish every three school days. In addition, classes regularly utilize the Media Center for book checkout and work collaboratively with the Media Specialist on technology and research projects.
Climb/Title I - Title I is a federal program which provides funds to supplement educational services in schools with higher percentages of students receiving Free or Reduced Price Lunch assistance. The purpose of the program is to ensure that students in these schools have access to a high quality education.
