- Transition Education Center and White Bear Lake Area High School - South Campus programs for young adults with special needs hosted the 7th annual Community Partner Event on March 9.
The event provided students with an opportunity to say "thank you" to community partners that have opened their doors to give students the chance to learn valuable employability skills. The program allowed students to showcase their skills and express their gratitude to community businesses.
"The Community Partner Event not only recognizes our partnerships with area business, but it also showcases the dedication of our Work Coordinators and job coaches. Most importantly it emphasizes our student's abilities to contribute to our workforce," said Transition Education Center coordinator Sara Derby. "We had a great turn-out of support for our students and we are grateful to our community partners that make student work experiences possible."
The following community partners were recognized for providing students with opportunities that include a job shadow experience, business tour or work experience:
